Tensions are high on The Real Housewives of Orange County this week as Tamra Judge urges Bravo to fire Kelly Dodd for racist comments that she made in the past.
The tension was especially high after the TV network cracked the whip on Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder for racism-related issues, and they were removed from Vanderpump Rules. Judge has encouraged Bravo to do the same with her former co-star Dodd for the racist comments in a TMZ video. Judge was on a Q&A session on Instagram through which a fan asked whether she thought Kelly should be removed from the show after the video of her making the racist comments resurfaced. Tamra’s response was “Yes I do.”
“That TMZ video is disgusting! Bravo shouldn’t just single certain people out like Stassi & Kristen. There should be zero tolerance at this point,” stated Judge.
The TMZ video that Judge referred to was shot in 2016, and it featured Kelly just outside ‘The Nice Guy’ in Los Angeles. The video featured the RHOC actress saying that she did not know or like any black guys. The video recently resurfaced, and Dodd stated that she was embarrassed about it and even issued a formal apology.
Kelly noted in her apology that there is no excuse for statements or bad behavior that offends others. She took responsibility for her mistake and added that the video does not represent who she is. Of course, Tamra’s opinion that Dodd should be removed from the show is not misplaced, considering that the existing tension over racism in the country. However, it also points to the fact that the two women have bad blood between them.
Tamra and Kelly had a falling out while they were shooting the 14th season of RHOC in 2019. Meanwhile, Bravo has not released any statement regarding the matter, and neither has Dodd’s representative. It is still unclear whether the resurfaced video will bring an end to Dodd’s career at RHOC. Meanwhile, Tamra announced her exit from the show earlier this year after Simon Barney was diagnosed with cancer, prompting her to reevaluate her life.
