A new book has detailed the tensed relationship between Prince Harry and William. According to the book, “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family,” Prince Harry always felt like a third wheel when carrying out royal duties with brother Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Although the media embraced the idea of the royal threesome before Harry married Meghan, Harry always felt left out and unhappy. According to royal insiders, although William and Kate always went out of their way to make Harry part of the team, Harry always preferred being his own person.
The details are contained in an unofficial biography of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which claims the relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got so tense that the couple could not speak to each other. In addition to the tense relationship between the royals, the book details the Sussexes’ issues with then palace that eventually led to their resignation from royal duties.
The book was based on the author’s own experience as long-serving members of the royal press corp. Harry and Meghan were not intervened and did contribute to the book.

In the book, the authors allege that the Sussexes wanted to forge a different path while maintaining their status as members of the royal family. The couple is said to have clashed with the royal family on several issues. For instance, Harry and Meghan wanted to form their household, but this was not allowed. In addition, the couple was getting too much media attention and growing popularity compared to Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The couple also felt aggrieved when they felt that their projects were no getting much attention from the institution’s hierarchy compared to those of the Cambridges or Prince Charles.
