NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers has announced that he is engaged with speculation indicating that he is ready to knot “big Little Lies” star Shailene Woodley.

Rodgers announces that he is engaged

The Green Bay Packers quarterback attended the NFL Honors event which was full of surprises and Rodgers chose the moment to make the big announcement. The Packers QB was named the MVP for the third year running and chose to announce that he is engaged while delivering his acceptance speech. The star started his speech off by speaking of how hard things have been the past year before dropping the unexpected bomb.

He said, “2020 was a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, and some amazing memorable moments, 180 straight days having my nose hairs scraped, playing for little fans.” He added that he played some of his best football last year and got engaged. Interestingly, this is the most casual way that one should consider when making an engagement announcement. As he concluded this speech Rodgers thanked his fiancée but didn’t mention her by name.

Although the star didn’t offer more details regarding the engagement there has been speculation for months that he is dating Shailene Woodley following the split with Danica Patrick. He dated Danica for over two years but they broke up during the summer of last year. Representatives for Shailene and Rodgers have not commented on the engagement for now. The star has known Shailene since July but it is unclear how long they have been dating

Is Rodgers stealing headlines ahead of Super Bowl?

Interestingly the timing of Rodger’s announcement comes when some NFL fans may feel that he could be stealing headlines ahead of the game that he will not play. Also, some think that considering the current Super Bowl hoopla, Rodgers might have hoped for the news to fly under the radar.

The 37-year old star has in the past dated Olivia Munn and his brother Jordan Rodgers found love in 2016 following an engagement to Jojo Fletcher.
